RON ZIRKLE greeted us. Guests of KL WOMBACHER was Mike Beeson. JO MCLAIN was our invocator. STEVE EMHOFF was sergeant. CHRIS CHRISTMAN called bingo, which was won by our guest. CAROL HELMS won then lost the 50/50 (our pot is over $1000!).
Sign up for our last ROGANUNDA workday on July 17 with PAT ANDREOTTI. You are welcome and encouraged to come up for lunch even if you are unable to work. Carpool rides will be arranged as well.
Our program was KL WOMBACHER and the Yakima Bears. The season is just starting up and KL is busy promoting the new ballpark to our elected officials. He passed around the conceptual drawing of the stadium and grounds. Joining KL were players Jim Comerota – Infielder from Houston, TX who likes our fruit. Westley Moss- Outfielder from Irving, TX, Kable Hogben -pitcher from Melbourne, Australia who was pleasantly surprised by the size of Yakima. Some of the biggest changes for the players are playing with a wood bat instead of aluminum and playing baseball everyday. The players were funny and entertaining and answered our many questions about their experiences and impressions as a semi-pro baseball player.
