Pat Danielson

Our annual meeting at one of our favorite meetings. We gathered at Perry Tech for the Kiwanis Charitable Trust to award 10 scholarships to the selected students. This year was the first special award of the scholarship in memory of Joseph Aguilar, son of past president WENDY AGUILAR and her husband Joe.

PRESIDENT CHRIS COTE (also the head of Perry Tech) called our meeting to order after PHYLLIS MEYER greeted us, LINDA HACKET prayed for us and JULIUS GLOVER led us in our patriotic song.
PRESIDENT CHRIS then gave us some history of Perry Tech where there are 600 students with 76% male and 24% female. The newest program is the legal assistant/ para legal program.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: JOHN WARREN reminded us about golf day, June 8 and how we needed to sign up for golf, lunch or both.

MARY BETH WRIGHT who was in the middle of Blue Jeans Basketball thanked everyone for volunteering. Everything was going well with tons of parents and grandparents also there to watch their players.

ROCK THE GAP: 48 tables are sold with another 6 0r 7 pending. LOUISE TABAYOYAN needs cd's and bottles of wine for the Kiwanis Basket.

ROY LEWIS: DON DAVIDSON then shared that Roy Lewis, a Selah Kiwanian and former Lt. Governor is not doing well and is at Chandler House with his 2nd stroke. Remember him in your thoughts and prayers.

Ballots were then passed around to the membership and voting was conducted for officers for 2010 to 2011 and for the new set of Board of Directors. After the ballots were counted the new officers and directors were announced:
Pat Andreotti, President
Cami Leonard Corbin, President Elect
Becky Scholl, Vice President
Board members for 2010 to 2012: Bob Brown, Penny Baker, Stacey Drake and Amy Neal.

Congratulations and thank you!

PRESIDENT CHRIS had trivia on Perry Tech with prizes for those first answers with no prize going to the husband of the President! who knew all the answers.

MIKE WILSON, representing the YAKIMA KIWANIS CHARITABLE TRUST then presented the following scholarships:
Adrian Heredia, the Joseph Aguilar Memorial Scholarship; and additional scholarships to Sam Sundahl, Zach Pryor, Marcos Negrete. Ryan Melville, Zach Lawhorn, Chad Johnson, Victor Garcia, Guy Chan and Joseph Benoit.

Another wonderful meeting came to a close. Thank you to President Chris and her crew for the great meeting and lunch.

Thank you for all
