Beth Klingele

Upcoming Program Tuesday: Perry Tech Scholarships – At Perry Tech
- Don’t go to the Howard Johnson’s Tuesday, you will be lonely – we are meeting at Perry Tech. PRESIDENT CHRISTINE COTE always hosts a great lunch, so you won’t want to miss it.

Update your Calendar:
· Blue Jeans Basketball – this week –Mon 5-8, Tues 6-8 and Wed 6-8 at Davis Gym. Contact Mary Beth Wright if you’d like to help score or sell refreshments.
· Rock the Gap – Saturday June 5th. Contact Karl or Beth for tickets.
· Roganunda Work day – has been rescheduled until July – check back for the exact date.

We were greeted by BETH KLINGELE (that’s me!). LINDA HACKETT was our invocator and tried hard to find something to be thankful for in all the wind we’ve been having, we had several bingo winners; Beth Klingele (me again!) had the winning 50/50 ticket but did not draw the jack. The pot is over $750 so now’s the time to buy your tickets. PENNY BAKER was our sergeant and stumped us with baseball trivia. VICE PRESIDENT PAT ANDREOTTI stood in for President Chris for the beginning of the meeting and past President STEVE PICKETT ended the meeting. A true collaboration.

We had many delightful guests: From Kamiakin Kiwanis: Steve Fischer. From Apple Valley – Linda Larson and Susan Whitman. And from Grants Pass Oregon, Claudell King.

Our Program was Jeff Brantner and Al Brown from the Yakima Greenway who gave us an update on the many activities going on at the Yakima Greenway. The push is on to extend the Greenway trail to Naches – Naches or Bust! The entire path will cost $4 million so the strategy is to pave the way in phases. There is already the first mile complete from the City of Naches. The first phase expected to cost $250k will be from Allen Rd to Locust. Then next from Locust to Low Rd. The staff at the Greenway is busy applying for funds to help supplement the funds already raised. This year, all net proceeds from Rock the Gap will be designated for the Fund a Foot Campaign to extend the path.
