Pat Danielson

Meeting us at the door to Perry Tech Auditorium was newest member CAROL HELMS, JAN LYON and Treasurer, JOHN BENSON. BECKY SCHOLL made it just in time to invocate for us and JULIUS GLOVER led us in singing and PRESIDENT CHRIS had STEVE EMHOFF, veteran of the day lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

GUESTS: TOM OLIVA, our program from last week, IAN GRAVENHORST, Asst. Superintendent of ESD and 12 yr Kiwanian from Goldendale. Also Jennifer Arnett, with career services at Perry, joined us. WENDY AGUILAR's guests were husband Joe and son and Perry student, Joseph.

ANNOUCEMENTS: SHANNON BIRD says we are good for Chaingang this week. We have had great volunteers! TERRY ARCHER and RUSS ROBERTS are joining KARL CORPRON and DICK BIRD on November 6.

AKTION CLUB is meeting at 6 pm.

ROCK THE GAP: KARL is looking for music suggestions, anyone have any????

SGT. KL WOMBACKER then did a great Sgt for Halloween and memorable occasions: my favorite. What has 3 feet, 3 heads and 3 eyes -- 3 Pirates!

JAN LYONS then paid her $1 to announce that the SE Community Center is having a fundraiser with the help of Outback, $12 each, November 6 from 3 to 6 p.m.

FATHER DAUGHTER DANCE is January 16 and they need silent auction items.

This past week MAC PORTER turned 80 and was proud to make it across the field to measure for Chaingang. Our members are great!

TERRY ARCHER then introduced her "boss" Tom Gaulke from Entrust as our speaker of the day. Entrust is formerly Provident Horizon, a long term agency in the community. People with disabilities are now thought of and expected to live among the community and agencies like Entrust are there to make that happen. The disabled work force are no longer hidden but are at jobs and work for our communities. Entrust helps them to be trained, qualifed and ready. Some of the help that is provided is assitance in gaining food handlers permits, drivers licenses, employed in a large janatorial program, learning computer skills and help being hired. Help is given for recruitment and retention. Their trainees want to work! Terry is director of employment services and there is no cost to employers. They support their people for the entire work time until Entrust is no longer needed.

Next weeks program is Salvation Army and we are at Howard Johnsons. The food also was great from El Porton and we had lots~!!! Thanks Wendy.
