SEPTEMBER 15, 2009

Beth Klingele

Don’t show up for lunch next week, because our meeting will be an evening one. Our Installation Banquet and Silent Auction will be at the Clarion at 6pm Tuesday the 22nd. Contact STEVE EMHOFF if you’d like to attend.

Our greater was STACEY DRAKE, we were prayed for by RUSS ROBERTS, Bingo was won by BETH KLINGELE (me!) and once again BOB BROWN won then lost the 50/50.

Bingo at the fair starts next week with setup on Thursday the 24th. If you haven’t already signed up for at least two shifts, please do so. PRESIDENT RON will make sure the day captains all have their tickets this week.

Steve Emhoff is selling calendars for the Cascadia online Kiwanis Club to help send Circle K and Key Clubbers to convention.

Our program speaker was DALE CARPENTER who was at our club representing Camp Prime Time a camp on White Pass that is for the use of disabled and seriously ill children and their families. Camp Prime Time is in the process of fundraising for expanding and upgrading it’s lodge so that more families can experience the outdoors. The Camp Prime time opened in 1986 and has been operating with volunteer and corporate support ever since. They have one paid staff member. Dale spoke from experience for the need to families with disabled children to have a place to get away from it all. He has two children with autism and they have used the camp. The Camp hopes to raise $1million dollars for the lodge renovation of which $400k has already been raised.
