Pat Danielson It seems we are alternating between good crowds and light crowds and this was a light one! But we had quality people in attendance! ROCKY MARSHALL met us at the door and greeted us warmly.JULIUS GLOVER led us in song, I was the invocator and the scribe.
Rocky had no guests to introduce so President RON started out with announcements.
Bingo signups were on the wall and that was the sign OUT sheet for today. Ken Johnson, Lt. Governor Elect would like to have an all Kiwanis Day at the fair on the 29th but it will take a committment of 50 people to have lunch. We are looked at to have at least 25 but we weren't even close in the first count.
EARL HALL will be the new director of the Aktion Club. Thank you Earl!

JO MCLAIN thanked STEVE EMHOFF for donating his Bears tickets so that her clients could go to the game. They had a great time. We had many Brag Bucks which helped Sgt. WENDY AGUILAR in her duties. Braggers included Earl, KL, Gene, Shannon, Steve E and John.
MAC PORTER then called Bingo and Rocky and LINDA HACKETT shared the $5.00 and then Rocky won/loss the 50/50.
PROGRAM: Jackie Coe (SP?) and Bill Rober from the Washington State Lottery joined our meeting to educate us in the ways of the lottery, where our $$ go and how many things work. The Washington State Lottery started in 1982 and was voted by the citizens of the state. The funds have gone to education in the state for construction of schools. For the next bienium the funds will go inthe general fund. 2.7 Billion dollars have gone into state programs. Retailers slaes have been 548.9 million with an average of $8000 in commissions to each retailer. Cruisin Bills got $34,000 in a retail selling bonus for the big 3.4 million winning ticket.
People who win the lottery typically pay down debt, do investments, establish trust funds for education and contribute to charities.
The recent theme of the lottery advertisements is "whose world can you change" with the bird ad and now the dog ad. The bird ad won many awards.
There have been 597 millionaires created since the lottery started which has brought alot of disposable income into the state.
In Yakima County there has been $10.4 million in sales; 82 retailers; $600,000 in retail commissions; $100,000 in bonus' awarded and $5.8 million in prizes
Most winners pick cash not the annuity option.
