Pat Danielson The substitute for the substitue was the acting President...that would be me, PAT DANIELSON, and I called the meeting to order with JULIUS GLOVER leading us in song after LORI CROW greeted us and MIKE WILSON was the substitute for the substitute treasurer. LINDA HACKETT was the substitute invocator for STEVE PICKETT that didn't show probably because of the heat! I think that was all of the substituting that we had for the day.
LORI then introduced our guests, Lin McKay, BERT REDWING's daughter, and Darlene Green and Barbara Breeze from Selah.
Announcements: LINDA HACKETT then reminded us of the Aktion Club Installation of Officers and Directors tonight at Harmon Center, 6 p.m. We should have an interclub there.
And speaking of Interclubs, BETH KLINGELE organized one for Kamiakin on Thursday and one for Prosser next week.
Sgt. KIRSTEN DANIELSON tried to stump the Club with questions on Twitter, Blogging etc. but she only got one table. Some of the people in our club are really withit!
TRESSA SHOCKLEY then called Bingo and Kirsten won it.
BIG NEWS OF THE DAY -- MIKE WILSON WON THE 50-50 with over $500 going to him. We will see if air conditioning could be in store for his home! Congrats Mike! We start over next week.
PHYLLIS MEYER introduced our guest speaker Janet Kreiger from Hearing and Speech Center. Janet then share everything that is going on from help for children to elder adults in both hearing and speech. Janet had great information for us especially answering questions on elder changes in hearing and speech that happens with strokes and cancer treatments. Thank you Janet for another great program for our Kiwanis Club.
The program next week is Rev it Up with Jessica Brown on youth obsesity.
