Pat Danielson

A good meeting with a pretty full house. But we did miss all of you that were not there! KIRSTEN DANIELSON greeted us and also prayed for us. JULIUS GLOVER led us in song.

GUESTS: Patty Dion and Esther Huey joined us and also told us that they were heading up another year of 100 jobs for 100 kids for this summer. And right now they have 196 9th - 12th graders that have applied for summer jobs with them. You can contact Esther Huey at the Southeast Community Center for more information to donate money, offer jobs and employ a youth.

KARL CORPRON then announded that Golf Day will be at Suntides on June 9th. It starts with a BBQ luncheon which is our regular meeting and then yhou can play golf either 9 or 18 holes. 1:30 is T Time. Be ready to sign up next week.

RUSS ROBERTS then reminded us that next week is Clergy Day and we are the host. So invite you clergy person and let Russ know so we can have a good count for lunch.

GENE ROSTVOLD then shared the latest developments on Kiwanis Park and the development of the ball fields.

SGT. LORI CROW then did a great thing by giving out bucks instead of collecting them. She awarded the following: Julius Glover for always having the voice to carry us through our singing; Russ Roberts for always being available with a wonderful prayer; Becky Scholl, Mary Beth Wright, Gene Rostvold and Lee Maris for continuous support encouragement, and the ability to keep us all informed of the goins on of the Yakima School District; John Benson for working tirelessly behind the scenes on the majority of our projects and always willing and able; Roger Bell for his continous work for us as Lt. Governor; KL Wombacher for his fantaxtic ability to be so involved in so many things, yet able to give 100% to all; Mike Wilson for his tireless work on researching, organizing and documenting for our local club and the Pacific Nortwest Big Foot Brigade and also for dealing with in-laws, ex's and me at graduation this last weekend; Spencer Hatton for his work on Song-Fest each year; Steve Emhoff for work on Father-Daughter Dance; Karl Corporon for pictures and more pictures; Amy Neal for devoted work for Campfire and Camp Roganunda; Jo McLain and Linda Hacket for work on Aktion Club; Beth Klinege, Kirsten Danielson and Chris Cote for the tireless work on Rock the Gap; Pat Danielson for Best Kiwanis Nazi that can be; Ron Zirkle for his amazing year of presidency and a wonderful argyle vest; Jay Carroll for serving as Secretary Again and again and again; Wendy Aguilar for Serving as Treasuer, sometimes; Chris Cote for Tirelessly giving to all parts of the community and Lori Crow for accpeting the fact that whenever I go on vacation, I will do so with 500 Kiwanians.

Julius had a brag buck for turning 85 and Russ Roberts is now the father of 5 adopted children. Congrats to both!

RICHARD ENSEY won Bingo and BOB BROWN, again, was the winner and loser of 50/50.

Becky Scholl then intoduced our program, Billie Smith from YV Tech. Billie then shared with us great stories on the development of the programs and the kids. YV Tech is a school of choice for the high school students in the Yakima Valley.
