Pat Danielson Our PRESIDENT RON was back in his vest, no less, and opened the meeting with JULIUS GLOVER leading us in song. BOB BROWN had greeted us at the door and RICH LEWIS prayed for all of us. Thank you to JOHN BENSON who did substitute treasurer work for us. CHRIS CHRISTMAN joined us after being absent for a while. It was good seeing him!
BECKY SCHOLL then introduced her guests: Donna Scofield, our program, and Ilda Parra, Becky's secretary.
PRESIDENT RON told us the sad news from the Selah Club. Selah President, Galen Sigar's wife died. And Kiwanian Pam Ernst also died. We are saddened by their loss.
LT. GOVERNOR ROGER BELL gave is a qick report of the best in a long time zone conference. Reviews came in very good on the classes. Kamiakin and West Valley member, Ken Johnson was elected again to the office of Lt. Governor. Lt. Governor Elect is Bill Powell from Selah Kiwanis and Wendy Carver announced that she is interested after Bills term ends.
CAMP ROGANUNDA WORKDAY: PAT ANDREOTTI reminded everyone that workday is coming up on May 16 and passed around the signup. He also said that not all the TP's would be put up but some would be.
ROCK THE GAP: BETH KLINGELE reminded everyone that the RTG meeting is this Thursday at her office at noon. Remember tables need to be bought/sold; signups for needed for the dessert auction and also for the Silent Auction.
MARY BETH WRIGHT was not in attendance but remember Blue Jeans Basketball is May 12,13 and 14.
SGT. LORI CROW then stumped everyone on the subject of money. And here we all thought we knew lots about money or at least the spending of it.
PHYLLIS MEYER, who sat on one side of me, won BINGO and then CHRIS COTE, who sat on the other side of me was almost lucky on the 50/50. She could have won $328.00. But she didn't! Who wants to sit by me next week?
BECKY then inroduced our great program, Donna Scofield, former doer of almost everying and now a bi weekly columnist for the Herald Republic. Donna had us all laughing at her great humor in telling of her life events from writing for True Confessions to being a Secretary to our own Becky Scholl and many things in between. The program was great and I am very sorry more of you weren't there to enjoy it.
The program next week is our new member Alberta (Bert) Redwing who is a candidate for the Yakima County Coroners position. She will share her stories of being an asst. coroner at Benton County.
