Pat Danielson

After the welcoming at the door from CAMI LEONARD CORBIN, our PRESIDENT RON ZIRKLE greeted us warmly. He had RUSS ROBERTS pray for us and having no one that would lead us in song, the Pres led us and we all should take note that this should never happen again!!! JULIUS GLOVER, hurry back, we need you! Cami then introduced our guests which included Melanie Rosin, a guest of JOHN WARREN. Melanie is a principal at Argus Insurance. Another guest and soon to be member was Bert (Roberta) Redwing. Bert is joining us from the Atomic City Club in Tri Cities.

MAC PORTER then announced that Julius is doing well and walking with a walker after his knee replacement. He will be back in a few weeks.

PAT ANDREOTTI then reminded us of the Camp Roganunda Work Day on May 16. With the shortened camp schedule for this summer, the emphasis will be on maintenance and safety issues. Pat sent around a sign up so check your schedule.

SPENCER HATTON, our Songfest MC and Chair, thanked all those that helped another successful year of Songfest. There were a record number of singers although the choir numbers were down. Income was up at the door. Thank you to Spencer, Ron, Stacey and daughter Susan, Jo plus two Aktion Club members, Pat D., Lynn and Connie, Kirsten and Kellen, John and JoAnne.

The formerly planned presentation and business meeting that was scheduled for April 7th is now scheduled for May 19. President Ron forgot he was going to be out of town!

JOHN WARREN then did a great job on testing our knowledge on commonly known nutrition facts or not so commonly known!

Remember we have all been invited to DON DAVIDSON'S 90th birthday celebration at the Englewood Christian Church on Sunday at 12:15 p.m. for cake and coffee. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DON!

JO MCLAIN then introduced our speaker, Carissa Sundsmill, from CWU and YVMH, with her sharing her enthusiasm and knowledge of Nutrician and to manage Your Weight. Which is always a good topic after our cinnamon knots! Carissa shared a handout that gave us many hints and helps along that line. She emphasized that weight management is a give and take situation. You need to weigh yourself, enjoy your food, eat at the table, use plates and bowls, limit fats and sweets, exercise and limit your portions. The new food pyramid displays a whole new look at what is needed in nutrician.

Remember a McDonald's Kids Happy Meal is the right ADULT portion.
