FEBRUARY 17, 2009
Pat Danielson PRESIDENT RON ZIRKLE called the meeting to order after we were greeted by BOB BROWN, led in singing by JULIUS GLOVER and led in prayer by RUSS ROBERTS. Bob got off easy when we had no guests for him to introduce.
President Ron, looking as dapper as usual in his wonderful Kiwanis vest, called for announcements.
LT GOVERNOR and member, ROGER BELL, announced the Division Council meeting that was to be held that same night. He also mentioned the March 10 Chamber Business Expo, 4 to 8 p.m. that Kiwanians will be manning a booth to bring more attention to Kiwanis and promote membership. CHRIS COTE is in charge of our club's participation.
SGT CHRISTINE COTE then managed to get most everyone to part with a dollar in support of the administrative fund and have fun and learn also!
KIWANIAN OF THE MONTH FOR JANUARY: KARL CORPRON. President Ron then thanked Karl, our newest Kiwanian of the Month, for all he does for our club and most especially his work on the Father-Daughter Dance. So thank you Karl and have a cup of coffee on our President!
JO MCLAIN called a game of Bingo and TRESSA SHOCKLEY won the BIG money and then one more time BOB BROWN won the chance at the 50/50 drawing and one more time he did his all for our club and lost--we all still have another chance!
Tressa then introduced our Program, Laura Menke from the YMCA, who then proceeded with a Tableside Boot Camp. Instead of talking about exercise we all did some! It was great fun and we learned now easy exercise can be and a few other things especially at our table!
Reminder to all Committee Chairs: Business meeting is scheduled for April 7th and all committee chairs should be ready to give a short presentation on what your committee is doing or going to do.
