JO MCLAIN announced that members can bring in their silent auction items for the Father-Daughter Ball to the meetings over the next couple of weeks.
Stacey Drake is a new member and will be acknowledged at the next opportunity.
Sergeant LORI, in the Christmas spirit, honored officers and committee chairs, JO MCLAIN for Aktion Club, RICH LEWIS for puppy stories and KARL CORPRON for his genorosity with graphic design with SANTA BUCKS.
Program: Betty Wilkinson with the Yakima Chamber of Commerce is the Adminstrative Vice President of Businesss Education Partnerships.
The program began in 1985 when local business leaders wanted to impact their future employees while they are still in school.
The program is known best by its job shoaddow opportunity. Students gain valuable insight in to potential job opportunities. The program offers many, many similar experiences such as interships, mentoring programs and group tours.
Lunch Buddy Mentoring is a program where mentors have lunch with a 3rd grader. The mentor is trained and then meets with the student once per week for lunch.
Julie's goal is to have 20 lunch buddies at each school. So far, six have filled out the paperwork. for more information, contact Julie at the Chamber at 248-2021 or betty@yakima.org.
Karen Lee spoke to the club briefly about the 16th annual Yakima Youth Awards which acknowledges students for outstanding achievements in categories such as Family Life and Business Enterprise. The awards will be Monday, March 9th from 6:30-8:30pm at the Capitol Theater. To nominate a child, call Karen at 248-4848.
