NOVEMBER 18, 2008
Pat Danielson PRESIDENT RON ZIRKLE welcomed us after greeter, PAT ADREOTTI, also welcome us to the meeting. JULIUS GLOVER led us in a much improved singing after President Ron insisted we could sing better than our usual.
GUESTS were warmly welcomed. BECKY SCHOLL brought prospective new member, Stacey Drake, director of early childhood development and also a past speaker. Adam Cramer was the guest of TRESSA SHOCKLEY. Did I hear that he works at the Herald Republic?
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
STEVE EMHOFF reminded us that the Father/Daughter Hawaiian Dinner Dance is January 17 and tickets are on sale. All father/daughter combinations are welcome and you can also purchase a ticket to give away! The tickets are $65 per couple. The committee is also gathering silent auction items to raise funds.
SPENCER HATTON announced that Songfest had its first meeting and the excitement begins. Songfest is the 3rd Saturday in March ((March 21).
Spencer also reminded us that December brings the activities of Santa and Edward the Elf visiting the schools and the special ed classrooms. Santa and Edward may have so many lined up that they will need additional donated fund from the club to help out their budget....sounds good to me!
Remember also that Tuesday evening December 16th is our Family Christmas Party with our meeting in the evening. This is when we gather for a social visiting evening and Santa comes to see the children!
Bingo: Becky won Bingo and BETH KLINGELE won and then lost the 50/50. Another chance to win over $1,000.00.
PROGRAM: PAST PRESIDENT STEVE PICKETT then gave us some new about Campfire and their bad financial luck. Theresa Vitello has resigned from Campfire and they are now down to one employee, Jon, the camp director. We are wishing them the best. Buy that Campfire candy--they need the money!
Then yours truly, PAST PRESIDENT PAT DANIELSON did a short roast of WENDY AGUILAR who is really hoping to be a Past President! The Past Presidents' Group came to the meeting without an agenda, and really without a clue just like our illustrious and tired President Wendy. But her saving grace was that she brought us the wonderful YWCA project and we got to envision last week. Thank you Wendy and Welcome to the Past Presidents.
Meeting next week is Salvation Army and then we go out to Ring the Bells.
