NEXT WEEK WE ARE AT THE YWCA, so don't show up at HOJO's or you'll be late!
Our stylin' argyle sweater wearin' Prez welcomed us on this windy fall Tuesday. We were blessed by the presence of Diane Kohler, guest of father DON KOHLER.
Ring the bell for the Salvation Army on November 25th from 1:30 TO 8pm. Contact JOHN WARREN to get your preferred location.
The 50/50 pot grows ever larger and is now well over $1000. This week CHRISTINE COTE had the winning ticket, but alas, did not pull the jack.
LORI CROW was our sargeant and stumped us all with obscure Presidential Trivia.
PRESIDENT RON presented Secretary JAY CARROLL with the distinguished club award.
LINDA HACKETT thanked those that helped out with Aktion club for the last two months especially JOHN BENSON who drove folks home for every meeting and even braved the rugged terrain of Selah. Also a big thanks to PAT DANIELSON and LYNN BUCHANNAN and all the others who helped out.
KARL CORPRON won bingo which was called by CHRIS CHRISTMAN.
Our program was our own new member ENRIQUE JEVONS who heads up the local franchise of MAD SCIENCE an after school program of fun hands on science enrichment. His organization also hosts birthday parties. The program is aimed at kids 5-12 but also there are pre-school programs. After school enrichment programs are very common on California where Enrique is from, but he noticed that here there are not so many such programs. Thus MAD SCIENCE programs are full with waiting lists. Then the fun part of the meeting came when Enrique shared some of the cool experiments he does including shooting a potato gun, making cool sounds with tubes, blowing up marshmallows with a vacuum and best of all we all got to make slime. If you weren't there you missed a great program. Maybe someone will share their slime with you.
