OCTOBER 30, 2007

Pat Danielson

Our almost Halloween meeting was a great meeting with a nice crowd thanks to our guests! KARL CORPRON greeted us, BECKY SCHOLL led us in singing and we always sound good when we have an interclub visiting us. How does that happen? And JAY CARROLL prayed for us as only Jay can do. PRESIDENT WENDY welcomed us warming and is hoping the bell will be fixed soon.

Guests: It was very nice to see DON KOHLER with us and he brought his lovely wife Evelyn. DAN FISHER thanked Becky for allowing the Davis students to be out at noon so he could bring daughter Hannah to our meeting. Apple Valley had a great interclub: Jerry Carlton, Dennis Hunt, Gay Warner, Benine __________and David Helseth.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: THERESA VITELLO reminded us that Camp Fire Candy goes on sale this weekend and she will gladly take orders.

CHAINGANG: GENE ROSTVOLD announced that the Ike game is now on Saturday instead of Friday night and now Dan and gang can't do chaingang so KL WOMBACHER has volunteered but he needs help. Give him a call. This is our final Chaingang volunteer opportunity for the year.

APPLECUP BANQUET: The Apple Valley interclub came with a purpose: to announce the 14th annual Apple Cup Banquet and Auction on November 19 6:00 for social and dinner at 5:30. Tickets are $35 each and you can contact Jerry Klingele at 654-4756 or Susan McDowell at 966-2697 for tickets.

THANK YOU from the Ike Key Club for the support they received at their Fence In at Wrays over the past weekend. They raised over $800 and gots lots of food and clothing for the Union Gospel Mission. They are sharing their money with the Mission and their budget!.

SGT SUBSTITUTE DAN FISHER then shamelessly used his daughter, Hannah, as several of his questions and it was a great way to brag on her accomplishments. BECKY SCHOLL shared an article that the MLK Playground equipment had gotten in the School Planning & Management magazine (July, 2007).

KL WOMBACKER called Bingo and LYNN BUCHANAN again had no winner in the 50-50, now up to over $301.

PRESIDENT WENDY then introduced our program Nathan Hull from the Administrative Professional program at Perry Technical Institute. The program is a computer application and office administration degree. It spans 4 quarters and results in 94.5 credit hours. With Perry's reputation for almost 100% job placement, there is a waiting list for the program that currenly has 22 students, two men and the remainder women ranging in age from just out of high school to 40's. A student can also end up with Microsoft Suite's certificate and also a National REgistered Bookkeeper Cerficate. Their goal is to make customer service # 1 to these students and emphasize professional dress and outlook. Each student will complete a business plan and have interview experiences. Although, costs are high Hull feels the program is well worth the results. Visitors are welcome to observe the classes in action. Just come by Perry and ask to see Nathan Hull and he will show you around. Also if you would like to volunteer your business experiences he might be able to use them!

Next week's program is Dr. Bill Betz from Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences.
