OCTOBER 2, 2007
Beth Klingele PRESIDENT WENDY AGUILAR'S first meeting as president was short and sweet!
We met at the Central Washington State Fair on a blustery October Day. STEVE SOELBERG prayed with us for good weather for the rest of the fair - and it appears to be working. (Keep praying Steve).
Guests were: LYNN BUCHANON's better half Connie, who has been helping with Bingo - thanks Connie! and PNW LT. GOV. Ken Johnson.
A big thank you to JULIUS GLOVER and PAT "nazi" DANIELSON for standing out in the cold and greeting guests.
Board Member reminder- there is a meeting Thursday and noon and marketplace deli. Please contact PRESIDENT WENDY if you are unable to attend.
If DAN MARPLES is "budget boy", then CHRISTINE COTE is "fine girl", at least that's what Dave calls her.... Sargeant Christine fined just about everyone in the room for everything from their lack of fair trivia knowledge to eating more than one corn dog.
Bingomeister KL WOMBACHER gave us an update on our Bingo fundraiser - we have raised about $8000 to date with Saturday being the busiest day so far. SETH SHEA could use a little help on Thursday during the day. Contact SETH or KL if you can help out.
We were joined at our meeting by several members of the fair board, Jake Jundt, Mike Lieta, Mike Hogue, Gail Hall and Linda Lowe. Our speaker was Greg Stewart, president of the CWSF and former Kiwanian. Greg thanked us for our many years of Bingo at the fair, which was started when he was just starting as a Kiwanian. Greg recommends you all see the Tiger show and the cooking shows sponsored by TreeTop. And don't miss those fried Twinkies.
