JUNE 19, 2007
The meeting for June 19th, the annual golf tournament held at River Ridge in Selah, was presided over by past president, Dan Marples. Greeter and scribe duties were taken over by Lori Crow and Mike Wilson ran the program. After our rousing patriotic song and Pledge of Allegiance, Steve Solberg led us in prayer, grateful for the fellowship and beautiful day in which to play golf. Guests were introduced and included Dan’s lovely wife, Barbie Marples, Carl Corpron’s wife, Jay, new members, Richard Ensey’s wife, Joyce, Cindy Fahsholtz's son, Kyle Crow, (no relation to yours truly that I know of!), Louise Taboyon’s (sp?) husband, Burt, and Mike WWilson’s father and brother-in-law, Tom Wilson and Don Guinotoli. Arriving at the last minute was Wendy Aguilar with her entire family in tow!
Mike Wilson directed the program with immense witticisms and awarded accolades and awards prizes to all of the golfers. Brian Blount’s team categorically denied teeing off of the women’s tee on hole #5 so the protest that had been claimed was deemed invalid. The first place team of John Warren and friends left before being lauded as the best of the best and an “honor system” raffle was held for an assortment of prizes with everyone in attendance winning something of incredible value.
Results were:
Winning team.. John Warren's United Way Sandbaggers @ 7 under par
2nd place team.... Dan & Barbie Marples, Steve Soelberg & Don Kohler @ 3 under par
Hole # 1 Accuracy drive.... Jedean Corpron
Hole # 4 Long drive..... Mark Hampton
Hole # 2, 7 & 8 KP's Karl Corpron, John Warren & Don Giuntoli
19 total golfers and 28 for the BBQ, with a good time had by all.
Thanks to Mike Wilson and golf committee!
