JULY 8, 2003
Beth Klingele REMEMBER THIS WEEK (JULY 15) WE ARE AT EPIC PLACE AT 600 SUPERIOR LANE. THERES A MAP AT OUR HOME PAGE.
We were greeted and invocated by AMY NEAL and CHRISTINE COTE called Bingo. DR. MIKE WILSON fleeced the flock as sergeant at arms. Lynn Buchanan was our Kamiakin guest and Brad Christian, owner of Roys Ace Hardware, joined us a guest of STEVE EMHOFF.
CHRIS CHRISTMAN was honored with a RUBY K for bringing in five new members. All female!
And we welcomed new members Louis Tabayoyon, who will take over the reins of secretary from VELMA CRAWFORD later this year. Louise was sponsored by RUSS DIX. Also new member Christine Neill from KIMA TV was sponsored by Mr. Christman.
There are a lot of interclubs going on this month. Action Club had their charter night on July 8th. On Wednesday a group was going to Cle Elem. And on Thursday a group went to the Sunnyside club.
LINDA HACKETT reminded us that we are sponsoring the Action Club meetings for July and August and she needs program ideas and drivers. The Action club meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays.
By the time you read this, you’ve missed the Barbeque at AMY NEAL’s house that was held Saturday, July 12th. Complete with S’Mores.
Mark your calendar to work at Vintiques Bingo July 31, Aug 1 and 2. Working Bingo for a few hours gets you in free to the event to see the shiny cars. JACK GILBERT will have a sign up sheet at our next meeting.
Our club is helping with putting in a much needed drinking fountain at the Frank Frederick Wayside Park at the Greenway according to parks chair AUDREY RICE.
Our program was K.L. Wombacker, Director of Operations for the Yakima Bears. This year the Bears are winning and we have the first round draft pick of the Arizona Diamond Backs in Connor Jackson. The bears will play 38 home games and boast the most entertainment of any short season team. The new picnic deck is available for groups and there’s a new beer garden on the 3rd base line. Boomer the Bear is new and improved. The Bears organization just signed a new 5 year lease of the stadium, so come out and support our winning team!
