JUNE 24, 2003 GOLF DAY
PAT DANIELSON GOLF DAY at the Elks! What a wonderful day for golf and everyone seemed to be ready. PRESIDENT BARB had sprained her ankle and used that as an excuse to skip golf but golf co-chair DAN MARPLES gave her a golf game to conquer to earn her gavel back – so far she does not have the gavel back.
Guests welcomed were: Randy Johnson, guest of JON ISON; Louise Tabayoyon, guest of RUSS DIX (she may soon be our newest member), MIKE SAUNDERS, guest of golf co-chair, MARK HAMPTON; Jeremy Kennish, son of JOE; Andrew Richardson, guest of SPENCER HATTON; Jeff Blount, son of BRIAN. Also joining us was an interclub from Apple Valley: David Helseth, Josh Jeffries, Dennis Hunt and Gay Warner.
PAT DANIELSON gave a non-traditional invocation ending in cheers from the crowd. It could be that it emphasized taking time to enjoy life especially golf and a couple of beers.
ANNOUNCEMENT:
SWIM MEET: Chairperson, JOHN BENSON, reminded everyone of Swim Meet this Friday – Sunday. He is short of workers on Saturday for timers (anytime during the day) and on Sunday morning for cooking 6:15 a.m. to 10 a.m. Remember to wear sun screen and/or socks since even the feet get sun burned standing next to the pool timing! Contact John or CORKY MATTINGLY to volunteer.
4TH OF JULY: Volunteers are very much needed to help with Bingo on 4th of July. Contact J Blake to volunteer. If you are in town, please volunteer to help.
JULY 15TH will be an off site meeting at Epic Place. Martin Howell is the program. Epic Place is at 701 Superior Lane off of Englewood. KEITH NELSON’s Market Place Deli will be serving lunch.

Also special congratulations to DAWN ALIVERTI, the only woman playing golf this year. Since we have learned that the rules have been adjusted for us ‘casual’ (that means terrible) golfers, there will be more women next year!
