Beth Klingele BARB GRECO ON BOURBON STREET
Upcoming President BARB GRECO share with us all that she learned at the International Kiwanis Convention in New Orleans, all to the tune of Cajun music played on the boom box. Surprisingly Barb wasn’t looking forward to the trip but ended up having a wonderful time.
New Orleans is the 2nd largest Port in the US and the 4th largest in the world.
The Kiwanis convention had nearly 10,000 attendees and was entertained by Jay Leno and the Village People.
Barb found much enthusiasm at the convention and a recommitment to the Kiwanis Mission of hands on service projects in our community involving our kids. She also learned that our club is doing a lot of things right.
STEVE EMHOFF reported on some of the issued that were voted upon at the convention - ask him if you’re interested.
WELCOME GUESTS
We welcomed an interclub from Kamiakin – Angie Wold, Lynn Buchanan, Galen Sigars, Steve Fisher and Ken Johnson. Also RON ANDERSON brought guest Jo McLean and Pam Caldwell was guest of STEVE EMHOFF.
IN OUR PRAYERS
BOB TALCOTT is out of the hospital and now in the Garden Village rehabilitation center. DON KOHLER’S mother had a stroke just prior to our golf tournament. Please keep these Kiwanians and their families in your prayers.
CAMPFIRE GETS CASH
AMY NEAL accepted a check from our Kiwanis Club for $4000. This year Campfire provided all the materials for workday so the entire budgeted cash amount goes to Camp. Amy reported that camp is now running with 40 kids age 5 through 11 and that camp Roganunda would not have been ready without our help.
SWIM MEET A GREAT SUCCESS
Chairperson BARB GRECO reported that the Kiwanis Invitation Swim Meet was again a great success. Special thanks go out to JERRY HENDERSON and the many other Kiwanians who volunteered as breakfast cooks, timers and announcers. Check out John Benson’s swim meet (not swim suit) pictorial on our web site.
LET’S FIND THE TATTOO
You really don’t want to miss our lunch meetings. KIRSTEN STOFFER raised quite a bit of cash for the sergeant as many (male) members paid for the privilege of seeing her tattoo. Mom, where did you go wrong? Oh by the way Mom, PAT DANIELSON, wants a tattoo too.
