JUNE 4, 2002
Jack Gilbert GUESTS
Brian Blount brought Joe Kennish for a 2nd visit. Brian says we didn’t scare Joe off the first time. Lynn Buchanon joined us again at the West Coast Convention Center’s garden room. Dan Marples, keeper of the rat – Scooby doo dog – brought guest Todd Leinbach. Dan tells the unlikely story of a “studly” Scooby carousing around his female Llamas. Seems the Llamas hate dogs and poor scooby was nowhere to be found. All is not lost however as a new “rat” was found, it being half Llama and half dog. Dan named the apparent offspring “Doggie Llama” and it was awarded to our eminent dog fancier Rich Lewis.
GET WELL BOB TALCOTT
A card went around for long time member Bob Talcott who is in Memorial Hospital room 204. A card or phone call would be welcome.

Those wishing to play card or just camp out Friday night are welcome to stay in the K-lodge. Bring your sleeping bag and plenty of poker money!
GOLF DAY JUNE 25
Rich Lewis and Mac Porter are still signing up golfers for this annual event. Rich reminds us that prizes are needed except they have plenty of golf tees.
SGT AT ARMS
Sgt John Warren collected a buck from those not attending Camp Roganunda Saturday. To pay your buck, you had to stand up and pass by President Doug who was trying to harass the non workers. John pointed out some very long term marriages in our club with anniversaries in June. Don and Betty Davidson are celebrating their 60th and Mac and Dede Porter 51 years. Check out the anniversary heading on the right side of this page.
PROGRAM: HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER OF SEATTLE
Tina Mankowski, Director of Community Relations for Harborview Hospital in Seattle presented an overview of the hospitals services with a video that included a segment on our own Jason Emhoff with shots of his treatment and recovery at Harborview. The Hospital is owned by King County and managed by the University of Washington. Harborview is Alaska, Idaho, Montana and Washington States’s only level one adult and pediatric trauma center and is ready around the clock for any kind of emergency. Harborview treats all patients equally regardless of their ability to pay and even though it is owned by King County, regardless of where the patient is from including other countries. Last year, Harborview served over 400,000 patients with approximately 1500 coming from Yakima County.
